Department of Radiation Therapy

The Department of Radiation Therapy serves patients of the Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Cancer Center at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. The department's oncologists, therapists and staff collaborate to design custom treatment plans for every patient with the goal of ensuring that normal, healthy tissues are spared or minimally impacted from the effects of radiation.

Available therapies include:

  • Gamma Knife®
  • High and low dose-rate radiation implant/brachytherapy
  • Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
  • Intensity modulated radiation therapy
  • Mammosite partial breast radiation therapy
  • Respiratory gating
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy
  • Superficial radiation therapy
  • Total body irradiation
  • Total skin electron treatment
  • Transperineal ultrasound guided radiation implantation of the prostate gland
