The internal medicine residency Cedars-Sinai is comparable to those at major universities across the country. The Department of Medicine has nearly 200 full-time faculty representing every subspecialty of internal medicine, all with academic appointments at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Residents encounter a great diversity of medical problems and a wide range of cultural and socioecomonic groups. Rotation opportunities include Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, two Department of Veteran Affairs medical centers, community clinics and private physicians' offices. Cedars-Sinai residents also have opportunities for research involvement and rotations in subspecialty clinical services and non-internal medicine ambulatory care.

Cedars-Sinai residents enter a wide range of professional careers, including academic general internal medicine, subspecialty medicine, community-based medical practice and hospitalist practice. They choose from some of the most prestigious fellowship programs in the United States, and have been recruited to some of the best medical practices in the Southern California community.
