Training for Residents and Fellows
Cedars-Sinai is an academic medical center with a world-renowned faculty and extensive, highly competitive training programs in more than 50 specialty and subspecialty areas.
As a major teaching hospital for the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Cedars-Sinai is responsible for the training of second, third and fourth-year medical students. In addition, the Medical Center offers a wide range of fellowship programs for physicians who need continued training beyond their residencies in specialty and subspecialty areas. Physician education is overseen by Cedars-Sinai’s large staff of full-time physicians with academic faculty appointments from UCLA, as well as 1,700 community-based, board-certified specialists.
As one of the largest medical centers in the United States, Cedars-Sinai offers residents and fellows exposure to a wide range of procedures and populations. Cedars-Sinai's facilities are among the most advanced in the world, with state-of-the-art equipment and the rapid adoption of new technologies.
Furthermore, Cedars-Sinai encourages resident and fellow participation in a wide range of scholarly and research activities. The scope of research conducted at the Medical Center ranges from molecular genetics, biochemical analysis and comparative animal research to clinical investigation, therapeutic trials and patient care outcomes research.
